A few years ago I set myself a challenge to write something every day for a month. There was no theme to the writing, no minimum or maximum length, as long as I wrote SOMETHING I was ok. This was one of the things I wrote:
Two caterpillars were having a chat on a leaf.
1 : So, you know all this business going on in America?
2 : No?
1 : Come on, you MUST have heard about all this American stuff going on! How can you not have heard about it? Its everywhere!
2 : No, I’m not familiar with it. What is it?
1 : Seriously? You’ve not heard about it?
2 : No, I have no idea what you’re talking about.
1 : All the situation!
2 : Ok, lets start at the beginning. What is “America”?
1 : WHAT?!?
2 : What… is….. America?
1 : Are YOU being serious? You don’t know what America is?
2 : NO! I’M A CATERPILLAR! I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT! I have NO idea what an America is, I have NO idea what stuff going on is and, to be honest, I’m not really sure how we’re talking because WE ARE CATERPILLARS!
1 : Alright, alright! No need to bite my head off!
Just then a bird swooped down and sat beside caterpillar 1. It leant over and bit his head off.
2 : Oh GREAT! Now I’ll NEVER know.
